Why only farmers from Punjab and Haryana are protesting.

Only farmers from Punjab and Haryana protest and farmers from Gujarat and Maharashtra or other farmers do not protest.

The reasons are as follows.

In Punjab and Haryana, farmers were given msp i.e. minimum support price. No other farmers have ever received msp for their produce.

Farmers in Punjab and Haryana fear that under the law, their mandis will be destroyed and corporates will buy produce at lower prices and farmers' debts will increase.

Farmers from the rest of India do not understand the importance of msp and are not involved in protests.
